Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1. When is the best time to visit Nepal and Bhutan?

Optimal times to explore Nepal and Bhutan fall during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), presenting pleasant weather, clear skies, and favorable conditions for outdoor activities and sightseeing. Nevertheless, you have the flexibility to visit these destinations throughout the year, tailoring your trip based on personal preferences and the activities you wish to engage in.

Q2. Is independent or solo traveling permitted in Bhutan and Nepal?

In Nepal, independent travel is allowed, providing the freedom to explore the country without significant restrictions. The only exception is trekking trails, where permits are required but not necessarily a guide. Traveling within Nepal is straightforward, allowing you the flexibility to navigate the country independently.

On the other hand, Bhutan has more stringent regulations to prioritize environmental tourism. All visitors to Bhutan must be part of a pre-booked tour that includes a private vehicle, driver, and guide. Even during treks, a guide and support team are mandatory. These measures aim to protect the kingdom’s environment from potential tourism-related harm and maintain a unique experience for future visitors.

Q3. How can I combine tours in Nepal and Bhutan?

To travel between Bhutan and Nepal, the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu serves as a convenient gateway. Regular flights between the two countries make this route easily accessible, with Kathmandu being one of the nine airports across five countries offering direct flights to Bhutan. Especially during peak seasons, daily flights are operational from Nepal, and additional flights are frequently arranged to meet the heightened demand. The flight duration from Kathmandu to Paro, Bhutan, is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, ensuring a seamless and efficient travel experience between these Himalayan destinations.
