Not only are Nar and Phu two different valleys in the Annapurna region, but the uniqueness continues having a trail through the wild and isolated parts of Nar Phu Valley, which is one of the best hubs to witness the Himalayan peaks in the highlands.

The Nar Phu Valley is one of the best trekking places of high peaks, passes, and glaciers. Best Time for Nar Phu Trek

For the trans-Himalayan region, the best place for trekking during the Nepal monsoon season is the Nar Phu Valley. At any point in the year, one can visit this region except in winter, which spans from December to February. The temperature drops below freezing, with heavy snowfall that makes crossing the high pass almost impossible during winter.

Spring, from March to May, is the best time for the Nar Phu Trek. During this time, the weather becomes beautiful, and flowers bloom. The monsoon season, which extends from June to August, is the other best time. It is a rain shadow area and hence won’t be affected by the monsoon rainfalls like the other regions in Nepal. Sometimes, however, it might block the roads by landslides in the lower part of the road. We would like to request our travelers to spare some extra days.

Autumn offers the clear views of the best in the Autumn season after the monsoon. The pleasantry of the season, crystal clear blue skies, colorful autumn hues, and heart-stopping scenery make it the best season for the Nar Phu trek.

Nar Phu Valley Trek Permit

Because Nar Phu Valley is a special place, trekkers need to go with a guide from a local travel agency. They also need a Nar Phu Trek Permit:

  • Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP): USD 30.00 Per person
  • Restricted Area Permit

During the off-season (December to August): USD 75.00 Per person for 1 week and during the season (September to November): USD 100.00 Per person for 1 week
